Third Row Grocery · the counter
Cut to order, which mostly means say a number and we will do it.
Prices move with the market and these are this week's. The board behind the counter is the one that counts, and if it disagrees with this page the board wins.
Ground beef, 80/20
$4.79 / lbGround here every morning out of chuck. Five pound packs are twenty cents a pound cheaper and we will split them into ones for you at no charge.
Ground chuck, 85/15
$5.49 / lbWhat to use if it is going in a skillet rather than on a grill.
Ribeye
$16.95 / lbCut to whatever thickness you say. Most people say an inch and most people should say an inch and a quarter.
Sirloin
$9.25 / lbThe one we would actually buy on a Tuesday.
Pork chops, bone in
$4.15 / lbCut from the loin here. Ask for them thick, because thin ones are why people think they do not like pork chops.
Whole chicken
$2.29 / lbWe will cut it into eight for you while you finish the rest of your list.
Chicken breast
$3.99 / lbTrimmed. If you want them butterflied say so and it costs nothing.
Bacon, sliced here
$6.75 / lbOff the slab, and you pick the thickness. This is the single thing people come from out of town for.
Bratwurst and breakfast sausage
$5.60 / lbMade in the back on Wednesdays. When it is gone it is gone until the next Wednesday.
Lunch meat, sliced to order
from $6.20 / lbHam, turkey, roast beef, salami, and two cheeses. Thin, medium or shaved, and we do mean shaved.
The freezer bundle
First Saturday of the month, forty pounds, one price. It is the only thing here we do not haggle on and it is genuinely cheaper than the sum of the parts.
Forty pound mixed bundle
$219Ten pounds ground beef, four ribeyes, four sirloins, eight pork chops, two whole chickens, five pounds chicken breast, three pounds bacon, three pounds sausage. Packed and frozen flat so it stacks.
Twenty pound half bundle
$115For one or two people, or a chest freezer that is already half full of somebody's garden.
Reserve it
by ThursdayRing the store. We make what is reserved plus four, and the four go by nine in the morning.
Three things worth knowing
The counter shuts two hours before the store does, because whoever is behind it also has to break down and clean the saw. After that the case is still there and still priced, you just cannot have anything cut.
We do not process deer and never have. There are two places within fifteen miles that do it properly and we will give you both numbers rather than have a go with the wrong equipment.
If you want a whole or half beef, that is a different conversation and a longer one. Ring and ask for whoever is on the saw.
